How I chose them

Three tests decided the list. GEO, AEO, or AI search optimization is a named offer on the firm’s own site today. The firm publishes work you can read before you call, meaning research, case studies, or a documented method. And the firm has a clear specialty, so the list can tell you who fits which problem. Firms that rebranded an SEO package as GEO with nothing published behind it did not make it.

Best GEO consultant for B2B SaaS

Drew Garrett

I run SEO and GEO strategy for B2B SaaS companies in cybersecurity, legal tech, HR tech, observability, and creator software. The work starts with a dated prompt set that shows where AI answers name the brand, cite it, or leave it out. On a cybersecurity account, that baseline showed the brand in 3% of tracked AI responses while two larger competitors appeared in 26% and 21%. On an HR-tech account, retrofitting eight low-visibility pages with answer-first structure and prompt-to-URL mapping lifted average AI-answer presence from about 30% to 48% in 30 days.

I work on strategy: the baseline, the source analysis, the roadmap, the specs, and the briefs, with your team executing. Case studies from these accounts are on my work page.

Best for: B2B SaaS teams with writers and developers that need a senior strategist to decide where GEO effort goes. Here is how I scope generative engine optimization services.

Best generative engine optimization agencies for B2B software

Omniscient Digital

Omniscient Digital calls itself an organic growth agency for B2B software companies and sells generative engine optimization as a core service. Its site publishes AI visibility case studies from B2B SaaS clients and states that full-service engagements start at $10,000 a month.

Best for: funded B2B software companies that want one firm running strategy, content, and AI visibility together.

Skale

Skale describes itself as an AI-search-first organic growth agency for SaaS and tech companies, with generative engine optimization on its services menu and webinars on attribution in AI search.

Best for: SaaS companies that want a SaaS-only team for both Google and AI search.

Graphite

Graphite, led by CEO Ethan Smith, sells AEO alongside SEO and runs a research team led by PhD data scientists. It publishes studies on AI search behavior and AI-generated content, and its clients include tech and SaaS companies such as Webflow and n8n.

Best for: teams that want their GEO program built on the agency’s own research.

iPullRank

iPullRank, founded by Mike King, sells generative engine optimization, relevance engineering, AI search strategy, and content engineering. It publishes the AI Search Manual, one of the most detailed public explanations of how AI search retrieves and ranks content.

Best for: enterprise brands with large, complex sites where the technical retrieval layer is the problem.

Victorious

Victorious offers answer engine optimization, generative engine optimization, and AI SEO, built on structured content, clear entity signals, and schema. Its technology team runs experiments on retrieval signals and entity-clarity scoring.

Best for: companies whose content exists but is hard for AI systems to parse and summarize.

Best GEO companies for content-led programs at scale

Siege Media

Siege Media positions itself as a full-service GEO agency, with the stated goal of making brands the answer in search. It publishes research on AI visibility, including how affiliate partnerships affect it, and reports LLM visibility in its client case studies.

Best for: enterprise and mid-market brands that need high-volume, high-quality content built for AI answers.

Go Fish Digital

Go Fish Digital sells generative engine optimization and AI optimization, and it built its own platform, Barracuda, which includes monitoring of how a brand shows up in ChatGPT.

Best for: consumer and ecommerce brands that want GEO and the tracking software from one firm.

Best for entity and brand work

Kalicube

Kalicube, run by Jason Barnard, is a brand engineering consultancy focused on how AI systems understand people and companies. It runs the Kalicube Process, the Kalicube Pro platform, a free AI Authority Index that checks a brand across nine AI platforms, and one-on-one consulting with Barnard.

Best for: founders, executives, and companies whose problem is that AI describes them wrongly or not at all.

Best independent AI search consultants

Lily Ray

Lily Ray founded Algorythmic, an SEO and AI search consulting practice focused on E-E-A-T, AI search, and Google Discover. Her published analysis of how quality signals shape AI answers is some of the most cited in the industry.

Best for: publishers and brands whose visibility depends on trust signals.

Aleyda Solís

Aleyda Solís runs Orainti, a boutique SEO and AI search optimization consultancy for international, ecommerce, marketplace, and SaaS brands. Her free LearningAIsearch.com roadmap lets you judge her thinking before you hire.

Best for: international and ecommerce brands that need a senior strategist across markets.

Match the firm to where your AI visibility gap is

Most AI answers are built from other people’s websites. In a citation export across six B2B SaaS accounts I track, 88.7% of the sources AI answers cited were independent third parties, 8.7% were competitors, and 2.6% were the brand’s own site, with the owned domain ranking about fourth on average as a source about its own category. An independent 2026 study of 40 B2B SaaS categories measured third-party citations at 88.4%. The full breakdown is in my GEO statistics.

That split tells you what kind of help you need. A GEO agency that only rewrites your pages is working on the smallest slice. Diagnose first, then pick the firm:

  • AI answers cite review sites, lists, and forums, and you are missing from them. Your gap is off-site, and it needs the PR support covered in the next section. Read my guide to off-page SEO before you brief anyone.
  • AI answers cite your pages and still recommend a competitor. Your gap is retrievability: the pages exist and do not answer the prompt cleanly. That is where answer-first retrofits, like the HR-tech example above, pay off quickly. See LLM optimization.
  • AI answers describe your company wrongly or skip it entirely. Your gap is entity clarity. An entity specialist fits better than a content agency.

If you do not know which of the three you have, start with an AI visibility baseline before you hire anyone.

Budget for digital PR alongside your GEO agency

A GEO agency usually needs a digital PR partner, or an in-house PR owner, to move AI answers. With close to nine in ten AI citations coming from other websites, most of the lift comes from getting your brand onto review platforms, category lists, industry publications, forums, and video. Earning those placements is PR work: pitching, relationships, and original data worth covering. Many GEO agencies handle the on-site work well and treat placements as an add-on.

Split the work so both sides run from the same list:

  • The GEO agency or consultant builds the prompt set, finds which third-party sources AI answers cite for those prompts, and ranks them by how realistic each one is to earn.
  • The digital PR firm or in-house PR owner earns coverage, reviews, and list placements on those sources.
  • The GEO side measures the result, prompt by prompt, so you can see which placements changed the answer.

Ask every GEO agency on your shortlist who does the placement work. If the answer is “we partner with a PR firm” or “your comms team,” budget for that second line item up front. My guides to digital PR and earned media cover how that side of the work runs.

How to check a GEO agency before you sign

Test the firm’s claims against prompts you choose. Every agency can show you a visibility score, and the score only means something if you can see the prompts behind it.

  1. Write 20 to 30 prompts your buyers actually ask. Best-of, versus, alternatives, and problem-first questions for your category. Run them in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode, and note which brands each answer names.
  2. Ask the agency for its prompt list and its baseline method. A good answer names the prompts, the engines, the date, and how often they re-run it.
  3. Ask whether it reports named or cited. Being named in the answer and being linked as a source are different results, and the best-known brands are often named more than they are cited.
  4. Ask where the work goes. On-page, off-site, technical, or entity. The answer should match the gap you found above.
  5. Ask what the monthly report leads with. You want AI-referred sessions, influenced pipeline, and mention share. A visibility score alone is a warning sign.

Red flags: guaranteed placement in ChatGPT, a single score with no prompt list, and case studies that report AI traffic growth with no baseline or no pipeline attached. The full vetting process, with ten questions and what a strong answer sounds like, is in how to choose a GEO agency.

How much does a GEO agency cost?

A GEO agency costs from about $3,000 for a one-time AI visibility project to $10,000 a month or more for a full-service B2B program, based on prices firms publish on their own sites. Digital Elevator lists AI visibility work from $3,000 and managed AEO and SEO from $3,500 a month, WebFX lists AI search optimization from $3,000 a month, and Omniscient Digital states a $10,000 monthly floor for full-service work. My SEO and GEO audit is $5,000, fixed. A fixed-scope AI visibility audit is the lowest-risk way to start, and the full pricing picture for SEO models is in how much SEO costs.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best agency for generative engine optimization?

The best agency for generative engine optimization is the one whose specialty matches your gap. For B2B SaaS strategy, that is Drew Garrett. For full B2B software programs, Omniscient Digital, Skale, or Graphite. For enterprise and technical AI search, iPullRank or Victorious. For content at scale, Siege Media or Go Fish Digital. For entity problems, Kalicube.

Which AI search agency is considered the best?

No single AI search agency is considered the best across every industry. Judge an AI search optimization agency on its prompt-level baseline, its published research, and whether its specialty fits your gap.

What does a GEO agency do?

A GEO agency works to get your brand named and cited in AI answers from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. The work covers a prompt-level baseline, source analysis, on-page retrofits, off-site placements on the sites AI cites, entity and schema work, and reporting.

Is SEO dead now with AI?

SEO is alive, and it is the foundation GEO is built on. AI answers draw heavily from pages that already rank in traditional search, so a brand that is invisible on Google rarely shows up in AI answers. The full argument is in GEO vs SEO.

How much does an SEO agency cost for GEO work?

An SEO agency’s published prices for GEO work start around $3,000 to $3,500 a month for entry-level managed programs and reach $10,000 a month or more for full-service B2B programs. Most generative engine optimization companies quote after a discovery call, so a fixed-scope audit is the most predictable first purchase.

Can a GEO agency guarantee placement in ChatGPT?

No GEO agency can guarantee placement in ChatGPT or AI Overviews. AI answers change by prompt, by model version, and by user, so any firm promising a guaranteed spot is selling something it does not control.

How long does generative engine optimization take to show results?

On-page retrofits can show in AI answers within a month: on the HR-tech account above, eight pages gained 18 points of AI-answer presence in 30 days. Off-site work, such as earning placement on review sites and lists, takes longer, usually a quarter or more in my experience.

Is a GEO agency different from an AEO agency or an LLM SEO agency?

A GEO agency, an AEO agency, and an LLM SEO agency sell the same work under different names. All three aim to get your brand into AI-generated answers. Compare the firms on method and specialty; the acronym on the website tells you little.

Do I need a digital PR firm as well as a GEO agency?

Most B2B companies need a digital PR firm or an in-house PR owner alongside a GEO agency, because close to nine in ten AI citations come from third-party websites. The GEO side decides which sources matter and measures the answers; the PR side earns the placements. Some GEO agencies run PR in house, so ask before you hire a second firm.

Should I hire a GEO agency or a consultant?

Hire a GEO agency when you need the production work done and have no team to do it. Hire a consultant when your team can write and build and needs someone senior to decide where GEO effort goes. Most generative engine optimization agencies bundle both; ask which you are paying for.
